Sue Sandager bought the nursery in 1972 while both were in college at the
University of Minnesota (U of M), and have worked hard since then to
create a thriving business that provides great service and products to the St.
Croix Valley and beyond. Dan graduated from the U of M with a degree in
Horticulture in 1974. These days, he spends the majority of his time
designing landscapes. His extensive experience with plant material and
hardscapes allows him to create attractive and practical designs.
Dan has served on the board of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society, as
well as various Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association (MNLA)
committees. When not at work, Dan enjoys spending time with his grandson,
motorcycling, hunting and traveling. He lives in Osceola, WI.
Andy was hired in 2008 and has done some of
everything for us. With his great knowledge of all things regarding the
landscape, he is an excellent asset to both our customers and the rest of our
team. He has a degree from Hennepin Technical College in Landscape Design
and has over 15 years of experience creating beautiful spaces. He lives
in Stillwater and enjoys hiking and camping in his free time.
Mitch has been designing
with Abrahamson Nurseries for over 30 years. He graduated with a degree
in Agricultural Business Administration from the U of M in
1980. Mitch joined the company in 1982 when Abrahamson’s expanded to
include our Stillwater location. Over the years, Mitch has encountered
every possible challenge in the landscape. With his great
problem-solving skills, he works with each homeowner or builder to develop
practical and long-term solutions. In his free time, Mitch looks forward
to time with his kids and grandkids or at his cabin in Wisconsin. Mitch
and his wife are long term residents of Stillwater.
joined our team in the spring of 2014, and brings over 25 years of experience
and an impressive design portfolio. Wendy has received two MNLA Design Awards
and has a vast knowledge of unique hardscape materials which she uses to
creatively develop intimate and one-of-a-kind spaces. Wendy enjoys
creating partnerships with her clients to bring their visions to life with
originality, professionalism, and most importantly, fun. Wendy lives and
gardens in Hastings with her partner Karen and their big extended family
nearby. On those rare days with free time, you might run into her on the hiking
and biking trails or having fun with her grandkids.
joined our design team in the spring of 2015. She graduated from North
Dakota State University with degrees in Landscape Architecture and
Environmental Science. Christa has an engaging personality and really
strives to help each client she meets. Her combined education and
experience give her the ability to create beautiful, functional
landscapes. She is an eager listener and learner, and gains experience on
every project she works on. Christa enjoys spending time outdoors and
being with her family.
started working on the landscape crews during the summers while he was in
college. He is a graduate from the University of Kentucky with a degree
in Landscape Architecture, and has been on staff as a full time landscape
designer since then. Jake’s creativity and passion for great design are
what drive him for every project he works on. Jake loves the outdoors
and nature, which often inspire his work. He knows plant material very
well and likes to use plants and hardscapes in unison to create dramatic spaces
in the landscape. Jake goes above and beyond to take care of his
customers and his co-workers alike. He lives in White Bear Lake with his
wife and two young sons. In his free time, he loves to camp, hike, and play
has worked at the nursery his whole life. He attended the University of
Minnesota, Duluth and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Management. Greg’s combined experience and education have served him
well since taking over as General Manager in 2014. The most
important part of Greg’s job is communicating and coordinating with the Retail
division, on the Production side of our business, and working with the Designers and
Installation team to get landscape jobs completed for our customers. He
really enjoys installing landscapes, which is where he spends the majority of
his time. Greg has been a certified MNLA Nurseryman since 2006. He
lives in Stillwater with his wife Andrea, son Howie and Pug Olive. When
not working, Greg enjoys snowmobile and motorcycle trips.
Andy joined Abrahamson’s
in 1993 as a Landscape Foreman, and has been MNLA certified since 2006.
He has worked in every aspect of the nursery. With his years of
experience, he is able to implement each design with great care and
efficiency. Andy manages his crews well and makes sure the work is done correctly.
He is responsible for procuring supplies for the landscape crews and
coordinating the landscape jobs. Andy enjoys cooking, spending time at
his cabin in northern Wisconsin and walking his dogs when he’s not at
work. Andy and his wife live in Stillwater.
Abrahamson's in the winter of 2012. He has over a decade of experience in
the landscape and construction industry. Fredy specializes in hardscapes,
such as retaining walls and patios. He gives exceptional attention to
detail which shows in the quality of his work, especially with natural stone.
Fredy and his family live in Inver Grove Heights.
Jake has been with
Abrahamson’s since the winter of 2014. He has worked in the horticulture
industry for 20 years, and has been a Landscape Foreman for 15 years.
Jake enjoys the hardscape side of installations, especially natural
stone. Jake lives in New Richmond, WI with his wife and two
daughters. In his free time, Jake enjoys four wheeling, camping and
spending time with his family.
Javier has been with
Abrahamson's since the spring of 2012. He has become an integral part of
the landscape installation team where he has learned all aspects of landscape
construction. He is also certified by MNDOT to care for our trucks and
equipment and spends a large amount of time fixing and maintaining our
equipment. He lives in Shafer with his wife and three children.
Rick started working at
the nursery in 1974 while in junior high. He graduated from the U of M
with a degree in Agriculture Education. Rick has done everything at the
nursery from maintaining equipment, installing landscapes and working in the
stores. He has always been willing to do whatever it takes to get the job
done. No one will work harder or more diligently than Rick to take care
of the details. All three of Rick’s sons have worked at the nursery over
the years. When not at work, Rick enjoys hunting in South Dakota, fishing
and anything else outdoors. Rick and his wife live in Scandia.
Gabriel has worked for
Abrahamson Nurseries since 2011. Before coming to Abrahamson's, Gabby
worked in the irrigation industry for 11 years. He works diligently on
every job to get the highest quality result possible. In the winter,
Gabby does a great job maintaining equipment and repairing all the tools that
are required to get the landscape work done. He lives in Shafer with his
wife and two children.
Our landscape crew members, led by our foremen on each job, are
hard-working, courteous, and efficient. They have many combined years of
experience working on a wide range of projects, including patios, retaining
walls, water features, plantings, and much more. Our team will be there
on time, clean up before we leave, and work hard until the project is completed
to your satisfaction.
